Aloe vera has no "babies" , how can I make another starter transplant?

Question:My green thumb sucks but I would love to multiply my aloe, we use it alot! Any advice would be appreciated. But you'll have to SPELL IT OUT FOR ME. Do I have to split the plant or what?

Answers:
To propagate Aloe from leaf cuttings, take a leaf and cut it into 3 inch pieces. Dust hormones on one end and stick it into a growing medium of 1/2 peat and 1/2 sand, Perlite or Vermiculite. Have just the tip (3/4-1 inch) of the cutting above the growing medium . Water it until it is moist but not soggy. You shouldn't have to water it more then every 3-4 days. After a month, cut back to monthly watering. Do not overwater! The leaves will probably shrivel a bit as the plant forms roots. The plant is living off the stored energy in its leaves. This is normal. Unlike other leaf cuttings, you do not want to keep an Aloe cutting in a humid environment because it will rot. It can take a couple months or more for it to set roots, so you need to have patience.

stop useing it so much so it can grow. they split off the bottom !
I just broke a piece off at the base, put some root hormone on the end and pushed it in the dirt far enough for it to stand up and it started to grow.
Sorry, I'm not sure but thanks for posting this because I am having the same problem!

Thanks
