Trees=dornment in winter, wildflower dornment in winter??

Question:since trees go dornment in the winter time, do flowers, wildflowers, shrubs go dornment too??

Answers:
Yes, all (most?) plants that aren't annuals go dormant to some extent or another in the winter. Some keep their leaves, but have no flowers. Others lose their leaves and just show branches to the world. Other plants lose all their "above the soil" growth - so they seem to disappear, only to "re-appear" in the spring.

Many wildflowers are annuals. So they don't actually go dormant. The old plants die and NEW plants grow from seeds in the spring.

Hope this helps!!

Good Luck!!
