Do Birds Grieve?

Question:I found a baby bird in the net that I put out, to keep them from hitting the concrete just incase the should happen to fall. I normally take them to the Baby Bird Hospital, where they are hand raised, and released but being Sunday they were closed. The Baby Bird Died. Do Birds or other animals feel grief when a baby dies? They seem to not give a hoot about losing them. I know some animals miss their owners, but is that greif?

Answers:
Birds do not grieve, but they are sure protective when one of theirs falls to the ground and it tries to hobble around. I've had Cardinals buzz me. I looked down and there was this little **** trying to find a hiding place. It did under the ferns. Ma & Pa came back and knew exactly where baby was. Incredible

I looked at http://www.1800topsoil.com and they told me that birds do not grieve.
