Is it too late in the summer (IL) to plant a double knock out rose bush?

Question:I planted a double knock out rose bush this spring and it has really taken off--it is gorgeous--covered with roses and growing like crazy. Do you think it is too late in the season to plant another? If I keep it well-watered??

Answers:
Knock Out Roses and nearly wild roses are only one of a few of roses that consistenly bloom from spring to fall. They can be planted at any time of the year, without any ill effects. My suggestion is not to fertilize these roses when you plant them at this time of the year. Your watering schedule should be approximately every two days for the first week. By the second week water every four/five days. When planting be sure to remove all air pockets from the root zone.

Nope, it's fine....I just planted 25 of them.
No its not to late be sure in get out the air pockets from the root ball water it throughly and make sure to plant it where it can get at least 6 to 8 hours of sun a day and it will grow like wild fire, give it some rose food also.
Most of these answers are on target. I'd just add: Prepare your bed carefully by killing any grass that exists, then add some compost and make sure the bed is raised. Make sure to water very well when you plant. I would not fertilize it at all. But I would cover the bed with several layers of newspaper and then about 3 inches of mulch, any kind after I planted. This will help to control weeds and grass and hold moisture.
