I've just cut down a lot of bushes in my garden. Is it illegal to burn them or do they have to go to the dump?

Question:I used to see bonfires all over the place, especially in Autumn. Having just cut down a lot of bushes etc I have a ton of debris to get rid of. It would take about 15 trips to the dump or one bonfire but is it illegal to burn rubbish nowadays?

Answers:
Depends on where you live, check your town's brush burning rules and regs. We're not allowed to burn, anything, here and shrubs, bushes, tree limbs and grass stuff is left on the street and once a month the township sends a mulcher around than a street cleaner....all for the sake of preventing wildfire...

You can have a bonfire. as long as ir is after 6pm! It might be safer to take them to the dump though!
we take ours to the dump
You can burn rubish after 8:00pm
Call zoning; they can tell you
you usually have to get a permit to burn stuff
Check with your local fire department - some areas suspend burning (even if you have a burn permit) in the summer/fall...
You can have a bonfire, but not after dark. But please take it to the tip to be composted down for recycling
Is there a burn ban in your county? Also, I would say it depends where you live. I live out in the country and as long as there isn't a burn ban, we can burn whatever we want, whenever we want.
It depends on your town. they may require a permit.

.
I would not suggest burning it without contacting your nearest fire dept. first. you could end up with a huge fine. play it safe.
In the UK generally you can have a bonfire after 8pm, but local by-laws may differ, so check with your local council. How about hiring or borrowing a shredder, that reduces the volume to a much more manageable size.
Ask a local landscaper. you can look at http://www.1800topsoil.com to see if they have someoe local.
Check on your local council website there may be info there about lighting bonfires !It is better to dispose of it at the tip or all failing get a skip or a man with a van to take it away(Check your local paper, we have a man with a van in our area that advertises for jobs like that!)
be more earth friendly and hire a muncher, then you mcan put it all back on your garden as Mulch
In our town it is NOT illegal to burn unless there is a burn ban in place due to dry climate. Out town also has a website, firestation, and other resources wich could state if the ban was on. You need to contact your local offices to find out if its illegal or type burning debris+your town and state into your browser
