It is possible for a crepe myrtle to get too much water?

Question:The crepe myrtle in our front flower bed has done fairly well until now. We have gotten over 30 straight days of rain and now the crepe myrtle looks weird. The trunk is very dark and it has white "mold looking" spots on the trunk. What can I do to save it?

Answers:
Try spraying with sulfur to kill the mold

yes it is possibly for any plant to get to much rain, you can either let it dry out or you can try to brush off the mold without damaging the bark.
