Please give me the pros and cons for converting from a chlorine swimming pool to a salt water pool.?
Question:Would I have to change my metal fixtures and diving board? What would be the estimated cost for a 64,000 gallon pool conversion?
Answers:
It doesn't matter which you decide to use they both require clorine, and they both require about the same up-keep. However, I provide the following link to help you decide. Cost?

Against - much cleaner, safer, it isn't more expensive that is a myth. Stick to Chlorine.
Only my opinion.
chlorine is un safe when comparing with salt.
If you have a 64,000 gallon fresh water pool. Leave it that way. If your thinking of salt water---you have absolutely zero common sense. Call Shamu and ask about the problems..
you really wont save any money, but the convience is great... for my 20,000 gal pool the cost was 1200.00 , you have to clean the converters once a month and if they go out its 600.00 to replace (about 6-12 months life expectency, I believe) And no the amount of salt is so small (parts per million) you will never notice it, nor will it damage anything metal...
