Falcon used for killing couch grass?

Question:

Answers:
I've heard of people suggesting Falcon to get rid of couch grass, I can't say I've used it, I used the old fashioned method of some elbow grease! They seem to weakly resurface around the perimeters but there isn't one in site on the main growing area. It is meant to work well on perennial weeds, so should sort it out.

Some suggestion from a 1955 book. Treat the area with sodium chlorate (weed killer still in use) at 1lb per gallon of water to every 10 to 15 square yards, preferably while grass in full leaf. This will render soil sterile for at least 4 months, poss 6. when it can then be fertilised (manured) and planted. Or, soil can be ploughed or dug 12 to 14 in. deep and the roots forked out, dried and burnt. Repeat forking as fresh shoots show, take a crop of potatoes, and then fork again. A third poss is to heap sawdust over the area to 12in and leave it to rot!
I do not like to use chemicals in my garden but couch grass drives me to mad. It grows along the edges of my veg patch and paths so if I don't get rid of it, it starts coming up everywhere. I use a narrow spray of Roundup along the edge of the border. It takes a couple of weeks to work but then lasts months.
Couch grass does not like its roots disturbing. Farmers will pull a harrow over the area every week for around a month during a dry spell. This usually kills off the grass. On a smaller scale hand raking and manual digging work well. Can't comment on Falcon it is a product I have never heard about. What is it's active ingredient?
