By what you are saying there has been a lack of rain in your area. Evergreens can withstand a certain amount of drought as they are deeply rooted. If they are younger pines up to about 8 feet they need more frequent water than their older counterparts. Some pines can go for months before they feel the effects of drought.
With dry weather comes the pine beetle and other feeders which you can identify by checking on-line. You can find information by asking an arborist who can help you to save your trees.
How mature are they and are you sure they are dying of lack of water? There is a food that is specific for pine trees. Try that. Also watering a mature tree for ten minutes is not enough. You have to realize the root system you are trying to water is huge.
Yes you may not belive this but if you put a mixture of babypowder and water on each one for about a week then thatll help.
sure u can just keep watering it and it will start to grow and develop
The larger the tree, the more water it requires and 5 or 10 minutes is not very long at all, however ... it may not be a matter of under or over watering. It could be a number of diseases that can hit evergreens or ... pine beetle. I don't know where you live but where I live we've lost all our pines due to this plague and it's spreading all over N.A.. Not meaning to make you paranoid but I'd get someone more qualified to actually look at your trees to determine whether or not it's a watering problem, disease or insect. Good luck.
where do you live and what kind of pine trees are they?? some pine trees do not need much water
dont know where you live and size of the pine trees--its what i do for a living--so email me and i'll give ya more details
You could try using pesticides and fertilizers. That may help.
Miracle Gro Evergreen Tree Spikes (You can fond them at your local home and garden store and possibly Wal-Mart)
Most pines have a shallow root system and are grown optimally by just dampening the ground, not saturating it. Many coastal pines water themselves by catching fog in their branches which condenses and drips to the forest floor. If you water a few minutes a day in the morning to wet the surface of the ground around the growing trees, you should get pretty optimal growth assuming other variables are under control.
Over watering can rob the roots of oxygen.
it depends on how big they are, if they are saplings, water them 15 -to 20 mins, everyother day,(each tree),, after sundown, if they are full grown,, they may be dasiesed and there really isn't much you can do for them.
change the soil surrounding each pine tree.

Here in Florida we have many different species of pines and they don't require water unless they are new in the ground.
We have clients come to our ag center from time to time with your type of problem--and it isn't due to under watering--it is usually due to damage done by the pine borer beetle.
I would suggest that you contact an arborist and ask them to inspect your trees to see if they can pinpoint the problem. If it is the pine borer beetle and you have mature trees, there is very little that you can do as far as treating the whole tree because of its size. People in our state have lost whole stands of pines to this pest because they couldn't eradicate the borer once it infested their trees.
About all you can do if it is boring beetle infestation is to cut down and remove the trees as well as burn the areas around the stumps.

Good luck!
Are these mature trees? Sounds like you have pine bark beetles. You should consult an arborist right away.
