What is the best place to plant lilies?

Question:i have just bought 2 lilies that are already about 3 foot high and in pots. not sure what type they are as i bought them at a summer fayre. whats the best place to plant them in my garden, how deeply and how often do they did watering?

Answers:
Full Sun is ideal, but a little light afternoon shade is ok too. They need well drained soil. Adding organic material to the soil is always good. Plant them at the same depth that they are already planted since they are in pots. For bulbs, A good average would be 2 times the diameter of the bulb. Keep watered until well established (damp but not wet). Lilies do not need as much water as some other plants. Spring water is most important as they are coming out of dormancy, then just water during really hot dry weather. Try not to wet the leaves and blooms when watering, especially is it is humid out. Water in the morning to allow foliage to dry well.
