What's the best way to get back @ a bad landscaper?
Question:we paid a guy for services and he never completed them and refuses to return our calls.
Answers:
I had someone like that before. We didn't let them come back, and we called them several times to complain. That didn't do anything, so we tryed to bring them to court, but they were illegal immigrants, so they ended up going back to Mexico. =)
If you want you do the newspaper thing.
Good Luck!
egg his house lol
Take him to court.
Take pictures of his"work" and publish them in your local newspaper with his name etc.
Torture him :D
leave a flaming brown bag of poop (dog or human) on his doorstep... ring doorbell... RUN!
If he is legal call consumer affairs and report him, if hes not call INS, or call a news program that may help you; there are several news stations that help people that get taken by contractors.
Assuming this is a real landscaper...not just some average Joe..
If you are in a higher traffic area, and the poor work is observable, you can put a sign up stating that this awful job was performed by xxxxx Landscape Company and you certainly do not recommend their work. Also, if you've joined Angie's List, you can put your negative comments there for all to see. Small claims court for the money and if he's licensed, contact the state licensing board. Someone cannot call themselves a landscaper without a license in my state.
There must be some way to claim against him, speak to the police if you have to. In the meantime, speak to all the landscaping companies you can and ask them what they know about this guy, tell them what he did - nothing kills a rep faster than bad word of mouth.
I like the sign in the Yard idea and you should report him to the better business bureau. They like to know about bad businesses and make sure you leave him a nice message on his machine stating you reported him. Also, if oyu are near a military post you can have him put on the military blackball list, which means Military will not be allowed to deal with him!
Report him to the Better Business Bureau. Then sue him.
