I have several tree roots above ground what do i do?

Question:I HAVE 2 LARGE TREES IN MY FRONT YARD. THEY GIVE WONDERFUL SHADE AND I DON'T WANT TO CUT THEM DOWN BUT SEVERAL ROOTS ARE ABOVE GROUND, AND EVERYONE TRIPS ON THEM AND I THINK THEY CRACKED MY FRONT PORCH. HOW DO I SAVE THEM? WHAT DO I DO?

Answers:
Top soil. Raise your front yard a little bit. At least in the area of the roots.
Cut the ones near the porch. It will weaken the tree, but not kill it.

put down soil to the root line. just enough to cover them. mulch to the drip line(the circumference of the branches
