Cutting Gourd vines?

Question:I have long gourd vines that are growing along side of my house. I was wondering if it were possible to cut the vines without killing the plant? Or should I just leave it alone? I have alot of flower sprouts coming up, does that mean that those sprouts will turn into gourds?

Answers:
You wouldn't want to cut the vines if you are hoping for a good crop of gourds. The blossoms on the vine will turn into gourds. If they are growing in a direction you don't want, just pick up the end of the vine and turn it where you want. I have pumpkin vines in my garden that were headed toward my tomatoes and since there was a large empty space on the other side of the plant, I just picked up the trailing end of the vine and pointed it toward the empty space away from the tomatoes. No problems now :)

thats the dumbest thing u could do
