Is there something you can spray on humans to keep ticks from hopping on you?

Question:I take the dog for a walk and there are oak trees along the way. Last time I came home with ticks on me not the dog. I have a fear of critters, so is there anything that keeps from getting on you?

Answers:
Chemical sprays Containing DEET work.
Still, when I was a child, my Aunt would dust us with garden sulfer before we would run out to the fields and woods, especially around the shoes and ankles up to the knees, and our wrists to the elbows.

I honestly swear, that when she could catch us before we dashed out, we did not get ticks and chiggars. I still use this remedy and when I worked in a farm store, I would recommend it to others, and all feed back I got was positive.

a 4-5 # bag is only $5 or so. Or at least the last time I bought any it was. I still have some of the last batch. I will probably be shocked next time I buy more...

Try it . I dust my horse and my dogs with it, but not the cats. Can't say it repells mosquitos, like Deet, but it does a terrific job with ticks and chiggars.

Since you are walking in the woods, you should wear a dusted hat and dust your shoulders as well.

They dislike Deet, Garlic oil and Deep woods Off. The Off is probably your best bet.
just jump in the shower after the walk

ticks are not that bad

if it turns bright red and makes a large spot and you get a fever get tested for lyme disease though
