How do you make a fire colorful?

Question:I herd that if you put copper in a fire and let it melt, the fire will be all sorts of colors. Is that true or am I wrong?

Answers:
throw a couple of packages of coffeemate in there--very pretty

True thats what I was gonna say.
true
but if you increased your meds and drugs *alot* you wouldn't even need the copper
I do not know about copper, my thoughts are that any wood fire would not get hot enough to actually melt the copper. If you want a truly colourful fire, put birch bark into it and you will get a dazzling array of colours.
There is also commercially available products that you put onto the fire and it will turn into a variety of colors. I believe the product name is something like fire color, or something.
put a old peace of garden hose inside the copper pipe
