How do sycamore trees grow in Texas? are certain parts of the state better (for the trees) than others?

Question:

Answers:
I have grown them as far west as Comanche and I have seen them as far west as Abilene. They will grow anywhere in Texas, but they get bigger east of I-35 since there is more water available. If you are in a hot dry summer and they are not in a moist bottomland setting they will likely show some stress.

i live on the river in texas, and sycamore tress thrive here (its the Guadalupe river) and we have one in our front yard too.they like the moister areas, and hate dry ground..and OMG, the tree in the front yard is like over 50yrs old! they live a long time, and give off great shade
They grow only in the eastern part of Texas, not the hot, arid west from Austin to El Paso
