Question:Okay i have mushrooms growing on my mulch they creep me out how in the world do i get rid of them...i live in kentcuky

Answers:
Mushrooms associate with particular tree species. The tree that your mulch came from carried the spores. Using a different kind of mulch will help. But chances are that in removing mulch you will just spread the spores.

However mushrooms are a healthy sign in your garden. They are indicating an active recycling of the mulch into soil. The breakdown of mulch is the same as decay in the forst of leaves and other fallen debris. This cycles back into soil and is available to the plants again. Fungi are active both in the decay and in symbiosis with your plants.
Certain mushrooms form a mutually beneficial relationship with the roots of plants, ranging from trees to grasses. Plants with fungal partners can also resist diseases far better than those without. So if you dig through the mulch and see cottony white threads. They are doing their job. Some of these fungi are even predatory eliminating pest nematodes before they can attack your plants.

isnt there some kind of repellent at your local home depot store? ask them
There is really no cure for mushrooms. It is just something decaying underneath the soil. Kick them up and fluff up the mulch to provide air circulation. Also, you can apply lime to the mulch beds. It will slowly help whatever is decaying to decay quicker.
