Where can you pick Kiwi's in Maryland?

Question:I want to go kiwi picking in MD. Do they grow in MD? And is there a place to pick them?

Answers:
Pick them in a grocery store. No, they are not grown in MD. In the US you would find most in Texas or California. They are a semi-tropical plant and will not grow in zone 6 or 7 without protection--like a greenhouse. There are "hardy" kiwis which are related to regular kiwis: Actinidia arguta or A. kolomikta. Maybe you can find one of those at a local L&G Center there in MD. I'd at least call around and ask.
