Should I water my lawn this morning?

Question:It's 8 AM Central Time. It's supposed to get up to 95 degrees today, with that much humidity. Should I water my lawn this morning, or wait until tonight?

Answers:
One of the answers was to water in the morning as opposed to watering at night to avoid fungus and root root. And that is exactly what you want to do. NEVER water in the evening if you can avoid it. Disease and insects harbor at night and when they have a cool moist lawn to live in, well that just causes all sorts of problems. Also avoid watering in the middle of the day, most of the water is being evaporated, so your not getting as much out the watering your doing. But never water at night. As early as possible is the best advice. But try to finish up before 10am during these warm weeks. And you should be watering deep and infrequent. Water more at one time and less often during the week. Your lawn should be recieving 1''-2'' of water a week and if your trying to maintain a green healthy lawn id say closer to 2''. But a way you can measure that is get a soup can of coffee can and place it in one of the areas you are watering and measure how much water is being collected and then monitor it that way. And that doesnt mean water 2'' at one time, its meant to be done throughout the week. Also if you want that green healthy looking lawn, keep your mower blades sharp

either doesnt matter i dont think as long as u dont do it in the middle of the day in the direct sun and heat better tonight u might get a quickie storm if it's that hot
I dont think it really matters. As long as your grass is green it should be fine.
I'd water the shaded spots in the AM and then do the same in the PM.

If your grass is getting scortched, it will need lots of waterings to bring it back to green.

Watering at night is best, but you don't want to stress the grass my letting it bake in the sun all day.
Water in the morning. If your grass is soaked all night it can promote bad things like fungus and root rot...at least that is what my lawn service told me.
thee morrning is the best time, or maybe latee afternoon but definetely not at night, it will ruin your lawn.
best time I think and I do not know squat in this department, is like a human, when do you think the lawn would be most thirsty? when it is very hot out side, or in the shade, where there is a little moist in the darkness.
