Growing Brussel sprouts?

Question:I read that Brussel sprouts are a biennial. Does this mean that they will come back every other year or that they will only produce every other year? Also can I cut the huge leaves off? any advice is greatly appreciated!

Answers:
The set seeds the second year

break off all but the tops 4" of leaves so the sprouts can grow, Wait until the 2nd or 3rd frostr to harvest, They taste
better, Just before first frost cut the immature leaves off the top. This makes florets, Cook like cabbage

ick i hate them
