Please help. When pruning trees what does the term "elevate" mean when used by professionals?
Question:I had a quote from a professional arborist and tree trimmer who used the description of - prune, thin, elevate, remove diseased limbs. Now, I was under the impression that he was going to clear all branches from the base of the tree and three feet upward in order to have a nice clear trunk for a space of 3 feet. He didn't do that. I had to pay because of pre-printed legal statements on the paperwork he could sue me if I didn't pay within 5 days. Now that he has my money, he won't even return my calls. What I want to know is, does elevate mean clear the bottom branches, if it does, he didn't honor our contract and I want to contact an arbitrator or the Better Business Bureau. If anybody knows, please help.

That's exactly what "elevate" means to an arborist, but it sounds like you got a smart a-s-s "wood chuck", not an arborist. Go after his butt and make him squirm! RScott
contact them. sounds like he ripped you off to me.
If he was on the level with you he would have no problem talking with you. the pure fact that he is ignoring you is a red flag.
