Why do lawn knomes have beards?
Question:is there a real reason to them having no mustashe and having a long beard?

Gnomes have beards because they have notoriously sensitive skin and shaving really irritates their face. The reason for no mustache comes from a little known religious law having to do with cleanliness.
they'd look silly without beards! Oh.. wait.. they already kinda do look silly.
If they had no beards, they'd look like elves and no one keeps elves in their yards...
