Whats the best fluid to put in a homemade bee trap? Soda, sugar water, syrup?

Question:.

I'm trying to get rid of carpenter bees and hornets.

Answers:
Apple juice. Just put it away from your house. I hung mine on a tree towards the back of the yard and caught so many bees last year.

Sugar water will definitely work. I use the old sugar water leftovers from my hummingbird feeder when I wash and refill it. It works great to catch wasps and yellow jackets.

If you've seen these flying pests buzzing around your beverages or food from a barbecue, just use whatever they seem to congregate around. They're usually not too fussy.
It sounds kind of funky but it works, take a gallon milk jug clean it out good and put in a cup of sugar a cup of vinegar and a shredded up banana peel and hang it up by the handle away from the house. It will attract all kinds of flying insects and once they get in the jug they can`t get out and drowned. Good Luck!
