Can you save a plant that is almost dead due to lack of watering?

If it is 'almost dead' then yes you can! :)
Give it only a little water, as to much will drown the roots. Wait two days and give it slightly more than you gave it the first time. Again wait a couple of days and give it slightly more than you did the last time. Continue in this manner until the plant is watered completely (the soil is evenly moist) and then begin reducing the frequency until you are on a normal watering schedule.
Take your time. Do not rush. Slow and steady wins.

if it's brittle probably not. if it's still got some spring to the branches, water it and it might come back.
yes some times u can do that but don't water them too much or else they will get soggy if u know what i mean ok!

Well, I have done it and am working on two bougainvillas that I severely neglected to water. I cut them back as far as I no longer see green on the stem. I deep water them and wait a few days to give them a jump start with some fertilizer. So far, I've been able to save a dwarf lemon, dwarf lime, ficus tree, eucalyptus tree, oleandar and two other bougainvillas. It doesn't always work though because I've lost a few along the way as well. One helpful little device I bought for around $5 at the garden center is a moisture meter with a long stick. That way I can really see whether the plant needs water or is only dry on the top.
In my expirence, No. But I am a plant-killer. I just can not seem to keep the darn things alive. I try so hard. I really do. I guess I just wasn't cut out to be a gardener. But, alas, I have found a way to save me from having to buy more and more plants after I have killed them. Home Depot has a no-questions-asked return policy on all their plants sold in the Garden Center. All you need is the original reciept and you can get an exchange. I have brought in numerous brown, dry, bug-infested and even completely dead plants (and you wouldnt believe the looks I got. lol) and was able to walk out with bright pretty happy full of life plants to bring home and attempt to grow. Its a wonderful thing, it really is.

Water it and then get Miracle Grow for house plants and mix with water as stated and it will be a beautiful plant in a few weeks do not over water,, wait till dry to feel and water again. you can kill a plant with no water or too much,, I live in the desert and my kitchen area looks like a jungle.I HAVE A SPRAY BOTTLE n spray the leafsand flowers three times a week.. U need a North window to do real well with them,, too much sun not good unless a succulant plant.
Depends on what plant it is... give it a little water and if y jrsoil has sunkin... add a little fresh soil to it, lightly water again. Always check your plants by feeling the soil around the bottom roots w/ your fingers. Then you can see how damp/dry it is and guesstimate on how much water you should add. It depends on the plant, but they do like some sunlight! And if it's an indooor plant, let it be outside for an early morning breath! Wont hurt it! :) Good luck!
Can't hurt to try. Throw some water on that baby and see what happens. If it is severely dry, try immersing the pot in a bucket of water. Leave it immersed until the air bubbles stop.
