Growing cyane pepers?


Question:i ahve these cyane plants and they have a few pepers on them. i want to know when to pic the pepers. also if you just re plant teh seads. i dont want to loose teh plant so plese help

You should know when the pepper is ready to pick because you will notice the size and color of the pepper. If you think it's ready, you may give it a day or two just to be sure, but check on it.


peppers will be red when ripe. Save one for the seeds to replant next year. Let it dry out.
TC is correct. You can pick one green and try it. The flavor changes as it ripens. They are good in a salad, slaw, on a sandwich, in a pot of beans or soup. Even good on pizza.
green cyane peppers are the green Tabasco peppers that you can buy in the store packed in vinegar. Very hot but good. After they turn red, pick them and dry them in the sun to make pepper flakes for seasoning all year long. Some peppers will grow from the seeds, but I haven't had much luck. The seedlings are cheap to buy at the garden store, and much easier to grow.
