Does anyone have any ideas on how I can hide my A/C unit, which sits right next to our patio?
Question:It's not only an eyesore, but sits right next to our patio and is very loud when we are out there, trying to talk. All ideas are appreciated!

You can make a fenced like enclosure using lattice or picket fencing panels. Just make sure you leave enough room to access it for maintenance. You can also make a folding screen using the same materials and placing hinges at the corners, this way you can fold it up and store it in your garage if needed.
enclose it with lattus,, and plant tall flowers around it...
The best solutuion would be to have an air conditioning contractor come out and move it 10 or 15 feet away and locate it so that shrubs or some type of inexpensive wood fence can be built around it. I suggest a four foot enclosure with a gate and having the slats with about 1/2" in between each slat. outside of this enclosure, plant some shrubs such as Dwarf Burford Holly or some other variety for beauty and sound proofing. It really all depends on how much you want to spend. Moving the A/C condesing unit could cost $300 or more.
Spirea shrubs are a nice shrub to plant near the unit and can be shaped the way that you would like. It is also a flowering shurb so you have color there too. It may dull some of the noise, but not much I would guess.
