How do you get rid of fire ants forever?

Question:My husband and I have tried so many products. Just when we think we've gotten rid of them, they come back again. I'm so fed up I'm ready to set the lawn on fire and say the hell with it! lol I'm convinced these things just don't die! Help!

Answers:
You don't get rid of them "forever" unfortunately. At least, not yet. They can migrate in from your neighbor's yard, so even if you do yours, they can come back. =(

We've had luck with "Over 'n Out" this year. We put on one application several weeks ago, after a chilly spell when we figured the ants would be out foraging, and we have NOTICABLY fewer mounds than we did last year. As in "one or two" as opposed to "ten or twelve".

im originally from CT> ive never seen these till i moved here...
it seems the more you do, the more you get.. and the little suckers HURT! and you cant wack them off you, or wash them off once they get on you... whoever named them fire ants... congrats!(although id be afraid to STOP DROP AND ROLL...!)
i dont like those ants that are neon color orange and look like they are walking on stilts... they dont squash when you step on them... i think they are called "cow killers...?" eeewww!
SCARRY!
IF YOU FIND OUT HOW TO GET RID OF ANY OF THEM OR THE OTHERS, LET ME KNOW! ill be watching!
good luck and try to have a good summer!
