I have brown colored mushrooms growing at the base of my flowers, how can I get rid of them?

Question:These mushrooms smell bad, and seem to be causing the roots of my flowers to rot and decay. Any suggestions would be great . Thank you !

Answers:
You have a fungal problem with your plants. Those mushrooms are caused from a fungus your plant picked up and the spores dropped onto the soil. Remove the mushrooms which disperses spores by placing a baggy over the mushrooms and scooping them all out-being careful to not let any of the spores from the mushrooms contact your plant or the soil. Then I'd spray with a light mixture of dish soap and water. In the meantime, quarantine them from your other container plants. Hopefully, that MAY eliminate your problem. If the plants are rotted at the base, you probably need to get rid of them.

mushrooms grow on decaying matter. There may be a stump there or a log. try to dig it up and the problem will be solved.
