When is the right time of year to lop a Rowan tree?

Question:

Answers:
Autumn

most experts will tell you its best to do this on a crisp autumn thursday evening
I trim all my trees after September 15th.. and before the new year. The tree is quieting down and the sap isn't running by fall through winter months but it gets to cold after January. I don't like messing with the tree as spring arrives.
Late September onwards is the best time to tidy up any trees or shrubs as they will have virtually stopped producing new growth then. If it is still hot in September you should delay doing anything as it could encourage the tree to a growth spurt. If you want to remove the tree all together even if you planted it you must check with your local council as it is now illegal to cut ANY tree down without permission.
