Great exercise! I love the sound of a good old fashioned lawn mower, rarely hear them these days! They're quite an effective cutter of grass, plus 100% eco friendly!

Manual Lawmowers are very good, but if you have a large lawn and want an easier time then electric or petrol maybe better. I use a petrol and at least you don't have to worry about the cable as with electric.
well they cut the lawn but with a lot more effort. its less bovver with a hover..
Hand lawn mowers with a correctly adjusted cylinder give probably the best cut of all to your lawn. The sort with a fairly large rear roller are the best and you can get a nice stripe effect. There is an element of strength and ability required and they are not really for the old or disabled to use.Perhaps use a power mower for the first cuts of summer and a hand mower to maintain the lawn on a weekly basis.
Yes they are more effect than putting goats in your yard.
For a lawn that size-absolutely use a push mower. They work very well, just make sure you keep the blades sharp. New push mowers come with sharpening kits that are easy to use.
They are great for tough exercise. If they are kept sharp they are very effective at clipping. However if the grass has gotten as high as the front shrub bar it just gets pushed over and never cut. So unless you are willing to go out mowing manually very frequently they are worthless.
the push type mowers are very effective. you have not said if the mower is side wheel or roller at the rear. the rear roller type is slightly better than the side wheel as it can cut the grass right up to the edge of the lawn.you have no cables to worry about and motors burning out. there is an easy adjustment feature on both types of mower and if you keep the cylinder adjusted so it just touches the bottom blade it will cut perfectly.when set correctly it will cut a piece of paper.
there is one thing though that is very important the grass must be cut regualy as if the grass gets to long the mower cannot cope. note.as long as the blade is kept adjusted and not dammaged it will be self sharpening.
30 sq metres? Go for a petrol one, otherwise your ams will drop off.
I bought my husband a motor mower and he sold it because he prefers a pusher! Its good exercise and he can get good 'stripes' - apparently! From my point of view, it is not so noisy or smelly as powered mowers and just makes it seem like summer as I sit there sipping wine and watching him work.
they are pretty effective and economically friendly
I read a review on push mowers in Garden News recently. They tested two and they both came out pretty well. It seems like a really good idea, especially something not too big like yours.

Go for it!
