Is there a better time of day to water a garden?
Question:Our area is a little dry this year and I am needing to water the garden. It there a right or wrong time to water it?
Answers:
Water just after sun rise when the plants are starting to grow. It is the cool part of the day so your water soaks in, but the plants or lawn won't stay wet long enough to grow a fungus. People who water at night usually end up using more water and also growing mushrooms or other fungi which they could easily avoid.
You will get better soaks by watering longer periods of time and also airiating your soil (poking holes).
It's best to water early in the morning.
always try to water it in the morning before the sun gets too hot...

I would say the best time to water the garden would be in the morning or later in the evening. Not when it is real warm out , it dries out to fast ,and its not good to water , when it is real hot out .
Morning, just like the dew falls at night.
Evening light water is good also, but ease up using potable water for outside stuff. I stopped watering my lawn and let the sand take over, it isn't as soft as grass, but it does not require potable water.
Australia is running out of water, I think, is rationing and stuff there now.
AM you are adding to the natural hydration, PM or afternoon , 5pm or so, it won't evaporate away so fast.
Early morning or evening.
it should be watered in early morning so the moisture is absorbed before the hot afternoon sun has a chance to evaporate it. also don't water at night because leaving the leaves and grass wer overnight makes them vulnerable to diseases
The best time of the day to water is the morning. Then your plants will be freshly watered for the brunt of the day's heat. A major concern with watering however, is actually reducing the chance of water sitting on the leaves for an extended peroid of time. It can serve as a vector for fugae and diseases. Given I'm not the earliest of risers, I rarely have the time to water before I leave to work. In that case, watering early in the evening is the next best alternative. That way you have a few hours to allow the moisture to evaporate from the foliage.
always try to water when the sun has gone. this way it doesn't absorb the water you have just sprayed.
Best in the morning, the dew will help it out..Hope this helps you out.
