How do you know when its time to pull up red pontiac potatoes from the garden?

Question:

Answers:
Overall, I dig potatoes when the vines start to yellow and dry down.

Some people loosen the soil a bit and reach down to see how big the potatoes are.

Others like pontiacs to boil (when they are small) and harvest a few earlier in the season.

Hope this helps. I love to grow this variety of potatoe.

They're red and coming out of the ground.
dig one plant and see what the taters look like or if your soil is loose just reach down in the dirt and feel the size.
