Why are my palms bleaching?

Question:I really like keeping little parlor palms in my apartment and putting them out on the fire escape on nice days. The fire escape gets about 2.5 hours of direct sunlight and maybe 2 or 3 hours of indirect sunlight each day. I mist them with a spray bottle. All of my palms end up bleaching light green, light brown, and yellow though. It's usually only certain fronds. The soil is never dry and the fronds don't feel that dry either so I do not think I'm watering them too little. Does anyone know what may cause bleaching of palm fronds? Thanks!

This happened to me whaen I did just what you are doing and moving them in and out. I was told the sunlight was to much for them because of growing them inside. Good Luck...

If they are not used to direct sun, then that is the reason they are bleaching. I used to do that to some of my plants.
They may not be getting benough sunlight, they may not have the right nutrient balance, or the palm could just be shedding some fronds, some leaf turnover is normal.
