Will my sunflowers continue to grow?

Question:Okay, so here is what happened, my sunflowers got trampled by some sort of rodent. They appear to have been moving past the sunflowers to start to dig in some of my berry pots. My tallest one is still alive and I have staked it so it will have more support now, hopefully it won't die. But I have several others that are completely severed beyond staking so they can repair themselves. One was about 18 inches and now has a stub about 5 inches, the others were about 12 inches and now have a snub of roughly 2-3 inches. So, will my sunflowers fix themselves or are they goners?

Answers:
With that much of the plant removed and no leaves left to produce food for the plant, the sunflowers are gone. However I wouldn't despair too much. Sunflower seeds are very cheap and grow quickly. Plant some new ones. I had to re-plant about half of my sunflowers last year after a woodchuck gnawed them off to about the same level yours are at.
