How do you paint terra cotta pots?

Question:I need to spray paint terra cotta pots fast. Does anyone know how to do this?

Answers:
I'd use a good masonry sealing paint. Terra Cotta is very porous, the masonry sealant will seal the exterior. For decorating the pots, use a good oil base enamel. I'm not sure if masonry sealant paint is available in a spray can, but I doubt it. Put the pots on several layers of old newspaper and simply brush the sealant on.

just get a latex exterior house paint , their are some available in spray cans
I alway just use craft paint and use a brush...but if i was spray painting...i'd just hold them upside down and give it my best spray...but I would think you would need to place them so the bottom edge doesnt get wrecked, while it dries which doesnt take long..you could use an paper egg carton...and place it so the edge is where the empty part is. look for quick drying paint. so it doesnt get absorbed into the terra cotta.
