What conditions do black bamboo need to live?

Question:What kind of soil, how much water, and how much sunlight? thanks for the info

Answers:
Bamboo is a heavy feeder being it's in the grass family, and likes a nice, rich soil. If you have already planted it then I'd recommend placing a top layer of Black Cow around it then cover with mulch. Water once a week like any other plant in your landscape. Bamboo will thrive in both sun and shade, but if your are is too hot then it may need some shade. I know P. Nigra does not like our hot, humid Florida weather.
