Can i grow peanuts in a plant pot?

Question:I have a peanut growing in a plant pot and need to know if it will come to anything

Answers:
no it needs a more humid country.

I've grown peanuts in pots in this country; it will send up a shoot that ultimately stops growing upwards and pushes itself back into the compost - this is where the nut is formed. I grew mine in ordinary multi-purpose compost. It will need a warm environment; it should be fine outside in the summer but it won't stand up to the frost. I suggest you stand the pot in a saucer of grit. Keep the grit wet and this will provide the plant with humidity.
