Question:

Answers:
pathos, spider plants, and ivy are very good indoor plants. they all only require water once a week and all do very well with indirect lighting. palms do really well when placed in a nicely lit corner too!

Look in your garden center for potted orchids. They are very pretty, do well in any light and last longer than almost any other blooms. They need practically no care- just a little water.
Flower, on average, don't do very well inside.

African Violets can keep blooming under lights
african violets, christmas cactus (might be hard to find except during christmas season), madagascar palm, norfolk island pine, money tree, ponytail palm, dumb cane, jade. I grow all of these indoors without any problem. I have had most of them for several several years.
Try Paperwhites,Crocus,Hyacinth or Amaryllis. A green and some times flowering in right conditions is the Jade plant - which can go along time without water or care. Some of these are fragrant too. The paperwhites are Narcissus
African VIolets. I have had fantastic results using Miracle Gro potting soil and potting them up in African Violet pots. These are ceramic pots that sit inside a ceramic reservoir which holds water. They keep the violets evenly moist, which they love. I add water once a week. I keep them sitting in a west facing window and they are just gorgeous.

You can find African Violet pots at garden centers and, sometimes, Wal Mart. The Wal Mart pots are a bargain. I paid $5 for mine. The garden center pots are usually a little more expensive.
