Does bottled water contain clorine?

Question:So I am trying to help my little sister with her science project, sprouting lima beans.

Her teacher said to use distilled water. Can we use bottled water (big blue 5 gallon jug type), or should I drive to the store to buy distilled water?

Answers:
Distilled water is plain H2O, nothing else.
Bottled water can have minerals, chlorine, or other filter types.
To be safe I would get distilled.
BTW, letting a bowl of water sit out overnight lets most of the chlorine dissipate. There is always some left, but it will take some taste and smell out.
Good Luck.

No it does not.
no only tap water does
thats the difference
Bottled water may indeed contain chlorine. Most of it comes from city water sources. Distilled water would be better.
nope, no chlorine in there. it should be safe for you sisters project, but if you want to be extra- safe, you could just spring for the distilled water anyway
