What is the best way to re-pot a plant in general?
Question:
Answers:
Get a pot that is larger than the one it is currently in, buy potting soil and fill the new pot about half way then take your plant out of old pot and place in the new one and cover with more soil. water and you should be ready to go..
what that last person but add to it -
loosen soil around pot edge (inside)
brace the plant with your hand and turn it upside down to gently pull it out of existing container without root damage
What they have all said so far, also want to be careful pulling on them though. I have some plants that will tear from their roots, even with the most care in pulling them out. I give it taps on the bottom which loosens it up.
Also, don't buy that cheap potting soil from your local stores, this soil is terrible to work with, spend some more money and get quality soil.
Generals available for planting are always in short supply, but assuming reader has dug one up from someplace (since I refuse to believe any would permit this while living), the best
place is just below the rib cage once you've laid down novel planter upon spine and heels. Personally suggest post-hole digger work excavation past the Class A's but parting the tie
and uniform coat would be a good gesture. Add mulch using
rubber gloves. You'll be wearing a biological hazard suit and
have full face transparent plastic protection while sucking content of a pony bottle I guess. Free planting from pot, work
the root ball a tad, before bending to put it in. Add good soil
to fill around the planting. This works best if re-pot site has had time to dry out first. Water as directed for the plant in question. Talking to this plant isn't a bad idea either but any saluting is optional.
