Does anyone know anything about growing Amaranth or Quinoa in a garden?

Question:I live in Northeast Ohio and I don't know if it is even possible (given the weather). Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Answers:
You should have no problem growing Amaranth in Ohio. The soil temperature needs to be above 70 degrees to germinate seeds.

Quinoa is another story. It can NOT take high heat at blooming or seed setting. Needs short days to bloom, takes light frost. Excellent production in the high valleys in the Rocky Mountains.

Good Luck!!
