Answers:
there are maney ways of propagateing plants. one way is to find a branch that is near the ground, cut a small notch on the bottom hold it down with a u shaped object [i've used a coat hanger ] put some soil on top.when it forms a root system then cut and replant. also do a web search on air layering, this works well to.it does take some practice, so don't give up !

You should be able to start new plants from the cuttings. If you want to expedite it, you can place fresh cuttings from the berry canes and grape vines in a hormone rooting compound and then into sterile soil.

Not all plants can be propogated in this manner so it will depend on the kind of shrub you are asking about.

To be on the safe side, cut several canes and pieces of vie to start with, in the event that some do not take. GOOD LUCK!
Plants vary widely....some by division, some by softwood or hardwood cuttings, etc. Cool sight should answer a lot of your questions.
