How can i trim my shrubs so that they are perfectly round.?
Question:i always see perfectly rounded shrubs in front of businesses and i was wondering how i can get mine PERFECT.
Answers:
Start with a cube shape. Use a yard stick to get the dimensions perfect. Using a colored string and temporary poles as a cutting guide may help until you have more experience. Next cut the 8 corners off at a 45 degree angle. Again use a yard stick to measure before you cut. Now cut to round out the flat surfaces of your shrub. Always know what you are cutting and why before you prune.
That will depend on your type of bushes. Are they evergreens they kind that have the little red berries in the late fall? or are they the leaf kind? It's hard but not impossible to round evergreens but it takes a long time to train them. Years even.
Just let it over grow then prune back in a ball shape even if some of the new branches aren't cut. That will start the form of the ball and year by year it will round out.
Were as leaf kind you can start now gently pruning in the shape. Then by fall when the leaves drop or spring before the leaves come you can have the shape on them.
it depends on which shrub you have planted, i think the easiest way is to plant topiary and buy a round ball of screen (you can buy this at a landscaping shop or garden shop) plant the topiary on the ground at the base of the screen ball, and when there are excess leaves growing out of the ball you can trim it.
