Flowers for window boxes?

Question:The pansies I had in my window boxes for the early part of the year need to be replaced. I am wanting bright, colorful plants that are heat tolerant. But, they will only have sun during part of the day (a.m.). I live in central Alabama (zone 8).
I have had lot of success with impatiens, not much luck with double impatiens & prefer plants that spread versus getting tall.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

Answers:
Trailing geraniums are great and come in a variety of colours. You might also try nasturtiums.

Try marigolds they bush out a little and multiply plus they will keep the bugs away from your windows.
Petunia..
Or try lillyput zinnias
Sweet potato vine; creeping jenny; verbena; vinca; new guinea impatiens.
