What are the rights of people to prevent their neighbours growing tall palm trees ?
Question:They are very very extremely big !! And also if you cut them is it the law that the cut pieces have to be thrown back into them ??
Answers:
If you don't like it, move.
It depends. If the palm tree is on your lawn or hanging over you can ask your neighbor to do something about it. Otherwise, take an axe to it. ^_^
If you have a hoa in your area and they dont like it either you can prolly make the neigbors cut it down.
swich homes so you will have the palm tree
salt that ****. find out what kind of food poisons trees. start growing one in your yard and poison it so you won't be suspected...
I don't think you can do anything unless it is on your lawn or leans over onto your lawn
Um...None...Politeness? Patience?
Jeez. Just chill. Take your neighbors some cookies and just be nice.
if it obstrucks your view or you can prove that it is affecting you in a negative way then the city will tell them to cut them
move or something but they have the right to put tall palm trees as long it's in their property nothing you can do about it
if parts of the tree is hanging on your side of the lawn, you have the right to cut the part that's on your side. as far as throwing it back on their yard, you might just be looking for trouble. you can ask them to cut it if you don't want to deal with the mess on your own.
legally you are allowed to use the space above your property as high as you can reasonably use it, which means tall trees are perfectly legal.
There are a few issues though, if the trees overhang your yard, you have the right to trim them back to the property line, If the tree falls and causes any damage or injury the property owner is liable. If they cut the trees down they need permission to use your property for access, and if you do grant permission, they should clean up all traces of sawdust and logs as well as repair any damage caused by falling sections of the tree (like damage to your lawn)
I know the liability thing if they fall because I have lived in the Seattle area my entire life. Every year we have one or two decent wind storms and everytime there are fur trees that come down, usually the ones that block roads, take out power lines and crash through houses make the local news.
Most homeowners end up forking over hundreds of dollars to have trees taken down safely before the wind knocks them down and causes thousands of dollars in damage. The tree service industry is a booming business in this area.
If the trees are on your neighbor's property you are out of luck.
However, if they overhand onto your property and interfere with some you may have the right to cut only the branches on your property. Incidents of this nature are very common, but I would contact the city first to find out what the rules are. I suppose you have already talked to these people. If you haven't you should. If you go ahead and do something to the trees without speaking to them first, even if you have the right to do it, you could cause some bitter feelings. Nothing worse than living next to someone is bitter towards you.
Look up your HOA rules (if you have one) and if not, your county/city laws.
If there isn't anything said about the height or type of tree that can be grown, then too bad for whomever doesn't like it.
better get a stepping stool and get over it. How rude to want to cut down someones trees
