Aloe Vera Plant Stock is rotting...?

Question:do I just cut it off so it doesn't hurt the rest of the plant or what? I've never had to do anything before so I just want to be as careful as possible.

Answers:
im having this same problem with my aloe plant. the little offshoots of the big oridinal plant seem to be ok, so i have moved them to another pot. the giant plant looked ok above the soil, but when i poked around a little, i found that the roots and the base of the plant was full of a yellow mold/fungus that was eating the plant and i had no idea because it was all under the soil. remove any small offshoots and inspect all the plants for any mold or fungus. if you do find some, call your local greenhouse and see what they recommend.

it sounds like you are overwatering your plant!
