Raspberry plant dying?! help please?
Question:I just planted a raspberry plant it said they were red dwarf raspberries, i bought it at home depot. I planted it straight in my dirt in my backyeard that was mixed with a little bit of planting soil. I planted it on a small mound with a little mote arround it for watering. I keep it moist all day and it still looks like its dying. please help me?
the leaves are curling up and turning brown, there are one or two new green leaves and the vine part or branch part is still green and cannot be "snapped" off.
i live in northern california in the valley, the plant is planted in full sun per directions on the tag.
Answers:
it will come back out, it may be getting too hot or too much sun. it will most likely adjust itself and start growing stronger leaves to deal with the new amount of sunlight. raspberries will grow virtually everywhere once they get themselves established.
I know this sounds crazy but Coffee.
Ive experienced this with many flowers and fruits, Blueberries, strawberries, anything really.
Just use left over coffee thats cold from the morning and water it with that every once in a while. I saved a Poinsetta that was practically dying with this trick. Also, try adding coffee grounds to the dirt.
hope this helps :)
hmm i'm not sure. one thing i want to say is if it's in your garden then a plant does not need watering every day unless you're in a very dry area. if i had to guess i'd say it was overwatered, especially when i see the word 'moat'. When i was a kid and my mum asked me to water the garden I made lots of 'moat's and ruined a lot of vegetables.
