Zucchini question #2: Is it safe to cut some of the leaves off, or will that damage the plant?
Question:My zucchini plant is starting to dominate over some of my other plants.

Trimming the leaves will give you better vegetables. The flowers are also edible.

It won't damage or kill your plant. I have cut bad leaves off of them before, and on some types people even prune the vines.
No damage at all. Peel that stem and cut off all those extra leaves that aren't growing fruit
