Small transparent spots on indoor plant leaves?

Question:I've noticed small transparent spots on the leaves of my indoor catnip plant and I was wondering the reason. Occasionally, I have also seen very small white bugs moving around the sides of the pot and on the leaves. I think I may also have a problem with fungus gnats with other plants in the same area of the house. I grow mostly herbs, so I'd like to keep treatments of pests safe and non-toxic (my cat included). Please, help!

Answers:
Throw it out! Some bug has been scraping away at your plant, most likely whitefly. Fungus gnats are black.
In the future, wait to water until the plants are dry but not droopy. It will help by not allowing fungus to grow in the soil.

If they are on the undersides of the leaves then they are probably insect eggs. Insecticidal soap is always safe to spray on plants.
