How to get rid of lake algae??

Question:at my lake house there is a bunch of seaweed and algae when you enter the lake to go to swim out how can i get rid of this? i have tried raking it out but it always comes back.. im not talking about the whole lake just my small lakefront area. there is barely anyone living on the lake so what should i do?? i would like to have it so the ground is sandy instead of all seaweedy.

Answers:
I would use a copper sulfate powder. you can get this a a pool supply store it wont hurt the fish of you could buy grass carp

Empty the lake, but it will come back.
i heard from a fisherman that styrofoam works well - but I have no idea how - I was barely listening at the time.
This doesn't fully answer your question, but your problem might be sulphur in the lake. I recently learned that algae thrives on high sulphur contents in water. If you were able to figure out how to counter the sulphur then it would resolve your issue.

Otherwise i don't see how you can permanently control the problem unless you had some sort of fish added that eats it but doesn't cause other issues.
release some carp in there, carp feed of algea, that is how people in the south keep their ponds clean
